AGRO-START :: Workshop 2, Campobasso, 22-24.07.2013

 

Effective approaches in financial support tools for SMEs in the old, new Member states and candidate countries

 

Bulgaria Economic Forum took a part on 22-24 July 2013 in the secont thematic workshop "Effective approaches in financial support tools for SMEs in the old, new Member states and candidate countries" in Campobasso, Italy. The workshop which is the part of the project “Transnational network for SME support in the animal breeding and horticultural sector - AGRO-START” was organized by Molise Region, that is second smallest Italian region for area which is situated in the Southern Italy close to the Adriatic sea.

 

The workshop was attended by 24 representative from the 11 partners organizations and was moderated by Arturo Alvino, professor of the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Food Sciences in University of Molise. The opening speech was delivered by eng. Massimo Pillarella, Managing Authority for ROP ERDF 2007-2013 on behalf of Molise Region. The Chair of the Meeting, prof. Alvino, confirm the positive feedback about the results of the workshop and the effective and active involvement of the participants.

 

The theme of the workshop was related to effective approaches in financial support for SMEs and how to inform about this support. For that, the project partners contacted their target groups in order to identify good practices in their countries for effective approaches in the financial support.

 

During the workshop partners selected 6 good practices examples being considered the best of those presented. These best practices examples selected are:

 

* IPARD online information tool kit presented by FFRM -- FYROM

* Business support to farmers for access to finance presented by Cereth Ireteth-Greece

* TrovaAgevolazioni.it: the online tool to finance your investments presented by Unimol, Italy

* Financial instruments and services in smaller towns and rural areas, BSC SME, Bulgaria.

* SMEs facilitation.it presented by Molise Region in cooperation with University of Molise, Italy

* Access to Finance in Agro Business presented by FFRM, FYROM

 

Within the workshop Molise Region organized visit to farms in Campobasso, the administrative chief town, and two villages San Giovanni in Galdo and Campolieto. 

 

The selected examples will be included in the Guide of good practices that will be developed later in the project. SEE Support Service Protocol will be developed based on these approaches. It will guide business support entities on how to best provide support services to SMEs in the animal breeding and horticulture sector in order to improve their competitiveness.
